On my way out of the Skoki backcountry area of Banff National Park I stopped for a final break at the top of “Deception Pass” before the long downhill hike back to the trailhead. While I was enjoying the view a hoary marmot came for a visit and posed beautifully in front of the peaks of Skoki. I said “thanks” to the marmot, as I do with friendly wildlife, and I was on my way back to civilization.
